The vineyard
about us
The viticulture in the family has been existing for several hundred years. 50 years ago, Eduard Eichler began to promote winegrowing. With his wife Theresia, he cultivated about 10 hectares of vineyards at the turn of the millennium with the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Neuburg, Rivaner, Traminer, Zweigelt and Blauburger. Different new varieties such as Sauvignon blanc, Merlot, Pinot noir and St. Laurent grow in our young vines.
In Herrnbaumgarten, the wines grow in the vineyards of Krainhölzer, Reck am Aigen, Johannesbergen, Baumgartleiten, Hennkratzer and Rosenberg. In April 2005 the son, master of cellar and viticulture, Johannes Eichler took over the business and he is investing all his knowledge and energy in the quality wine production. He is keen on vinifying wines with typically local characters, which are a pleasure to drink.
The quality work in the vineyard already begins in the winter season during the pruning. In doing so, the foundation for our superior quality is set by the “specifically short pruning”. The Eichler family provides healthy vines and healthy foliage with valuable plant protection. It is just as important to cultivate the soil moderately and at the right time. The quality work in the vineyards is completed with our experience of thinning the grapes, to the delight of both the grapes and the wine drinker.
In order to present the wines, you will meet the winemaker with his wife Claudia at one or another wine event. You are always welcome in our company to experience the variety of our wines.
Just arrange an appointment. We are looking forward to your visit!
